As Seen On:

How This Started

Throughout my life, I’ve been on a journey of improvement that I didn’t fully understand at the time.

Looking back now, I can see the impact of choices driven by convenience, price, and YOLO living. My weight was a constant battle from my teens into adulthood, losing, regaining, and losing again. Over time, I stopped trusting my body and didn’t think I would ever find my way off that cycle.

Everything shifted about 15 years ago when I adopted a puppy, Diego.

The Turning Point

Diego struggled early on, skin issues, yeast infections, ear infections, you name it, he had it.

I followed veterinary guidance:

  • changing foods
  • using antibiotics
  • using steroids

Each approach worked briefly, then stopped.

At about eight months old, something clicked.

As an herbalist for humans, I realized I was treating him like a collection of parts instead of looking at him as a whole. I was addressing symptoms instead of asking why they were happening.

I shifted to fresh food and herbs, and within two weeks everything changed. His skin began to clear, rashes disappeared, and the ear infections stopped recurring.

What That Changed

I knew I needed proper training to do this responsibly, so I enrolled in a two-year program in canine and feline nutrition.

What I didn’t expect was how much that experience would shift my own life.

As I improved his nutrition, I began to look at my own. I started eating differently, and my body responded. The weight began to come off.

What I Saw Over Time

As a Clinical Pet Nutritionist, I’ve now spent more than a decade helping dogs and cats through a whole-body, root-cause approach.

Instead of chasing symptoms, I look at why the body is struggling.

Over time, I started to notice patterns:

  • Pets and owners often struggled with similar issues
  • Different symptoms, same underlying inputs
  • Food, environment, stress, and lifestyle playing a shared role

Pet parents would watch their animals improve and ask me:

“Now, can you do me?”

At the time, I couldn’t.

The Next Chapter

When Diego passed in 2021, it hit hard.

I went through a period where I wasn’t showing up for myself the way I knew I should. My health declined, and I found myself at the highest weight and poorest health of my life.

At the same time, I knew exactly what was happening.

Carrying extra weight places real strain on the body and increases long-term risk. It was something I had explained to countless pet owners, yet I wasn’t applying it to myself.

That moment forced a shift.

If I truly believed in root-cause health, I needed to live it fully.

So I went back to school and earned my Master of Science in Human Nutrition, not to step away from pets, but to bring everything together.

Where My Work Lives Now

Now, when someone asks, “Can you do me?” the answer is yes.

This is where my work lives now.

One Home. One Approach.

Nutrition and lifestyle support that respects the individual, whether human, dog, or cat.

At Home

This is something I live every day in my own home with my husband, Erik, our rescue pit bull, Lola, and our FELV+ cat, Henry, who has far outlived his original two-week prognosis.

What This Means for You

If you’re ready to make a change, to show up for yourself and advocate for your health and your pet’s health, I’m here to guide you through that process.
